Start confident. Stay informed.
You don't need to be an expert to give your animal the right environment. Smart Cloud tells you what's actually happening — in plain language.
SMART MONITORING FOR KEEPERS
Built for bioactive terrariums, paludariums and the enclosures they support.
WHY WE BUILD THIS
We started Phasmida because we wanted to know what was really going on inside our own bioactive setups — exact temperature, exact humidity, from wherever we are. Then we thought: why keep it to ourselves? Smart Cloud is our love letter to the hobby, and you are invited in.
Who it's for
You don't need to be an expert to give your animal the right environment. Smart Cloud tells you what's actually happening — in plain language.
Smart Cloud turns the terrarium into an active data source. Students observe cause and effect in real time — no extra sensors or lab equipment required.
Manage multiple terrariums from a single Smart Cloud workspace. Spot deviations before they become problems.
THE HARDWARE — BYOH FRIENDLY
Smart Cloud is designed to play nicely with what you already have. We also tinker on our own sensors and controllers — sharing what we build, learning as we go. Nothing here is a finished product line; it is a workbench you are welcome to join.
Complete climate node with touchscreen controller, battery base, and ENV III sensing for precise temperature, humidity, and pressure telemetry. Built for reliable 24/7 terrarium monitoring with fast wireless sync to Smart Cloud.
Advanced climate and air-quality node with VOC-aware sensing, designed for enclosures where gas build-up, humidity drift, and pressure changes must be tracked together in one dataset.
Remote visual monitoring node with wide-angle fisheye optics, scheduled capture support, and motion-aware alerting for continuous enclosure supervision from any browser.
High-precision sensor for temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure sensing in Smart Cloud setups.
BIO SUPPLIES — STUFF WE ACTUALLY USE
This is not a megastore — it is a small, honest selection of bio supplies we keep in our own enclosures. We add things slowly, only when we genuinely trust them. If you know a producer or supply we should try, write to us.
Established tropical springtail culture. A clean-up crew essential for bioactive setups — processes waste organics and prevents mould before it establishes. Ships live in a 150 ml container with medium.
Trichorhina tomentosa — the standard detritivore for bioactive terrariums. Small size, high reproductive rate, and suitable for humid and semi-arid enclosures alike. Ships live in a 150 ml container with medium.
Dried and cleaned oak (Quercus robur) leaf litter. Used as surface cover, humid microhabitat, and a natural food source for isopods and springtails. Sustainably collected, pesticide-free.
Rich, organic humus collected from undisturbed forest floors. Ideal for bioactive substrate. Sterilised layers, providing nutrients and fostering beneficial microfauna. Free of pesticides and contaminants.

}WHO I AM
Phasmida is a tiny passion project. I write the cloud, the firmware and the docs myself, in the evenings and weekends, between feedings and misting. I keep terrariums, I breed species, and I am building the tool I always wanted — in the open, with anyone who wants to join in.
Designed and tinkered on from a small workshop in the EU.
